Interlibrary loan fees

Most interlibrary loans from within Germany are available free of charge. There is a charge for posting old and valuable books (fee dependent on value of book). For international loans, we charge postage and any other fees levied by the library supplying the item.

When ordering articles and copies from journals and books, from January 2025 onwards documents will generally no longer be sent in paper form, but by e-mail with a download link. After clicking on the link, you log in with your library ID and can retrieve the desired article as a PDF file.

Ordering articles and copies via interlibrary loan is generally free of charge for members of the University of Würzburg (students, employees, academics).

Interested parties from the city and region receive up to 10 articles per calendar year free of charge. If this order quantity is exceeded, we charge €3.50 for each additional item ordered.

Different costs are also possible for special inventories.
