Artificial Truth?
The Pope allegedly wears Balenciaga, digital models advertise Levi's jeans and an AI-generated song conquers the country charts. These scenarios, which would have seemed like the content of a science fiction film just a few years ago, are the reality of the 2020s.
Today, artificial intelligence is leading to profound change. In addition to the diverse potential that this technology offers, it is also heavily criticised. The distinction between truth and deception is becoming an even greater challenge through the use of AI. The resulting dangers are real, but their extent is currently difficult to assess. It is therefore essential to take a critical look at this field and ask the following questions: How is AI changing our perception of the world? What do we know about it and what remains unknown? Which sources can we trust?
The exhibition FAKT-FAKE not only offers insights into various areas of application of artificial intelligence (AI), but also enables visitors to engage directly with the topic. An interactive AI element allows visitors to modify the graphics presented in the exhibition with their own input, so-called "prompts". These elements illustrate the dynamics of action and reaction in connection with AI and show the meaningful potential applications of the technology in society, media and science.
