Playbills of Würzburg’s city theatre
Recorded by Wolfgang Jehmüller.
An important source for regional theatre history are the more than 7000 playbills of Würzburg’s city theatre. They are part of the collections of the Friends of Main-Franconian Art and History (Freunde Mainfränkischer Kunst und Geschichte). From 1804 to 1902, they offer information about playing schedules, staging, and actors, showing tendencies of public taste in the 19th century.
