Mit einer fulminanten Finissage am 17.11. und dem grandiosen Auftritt des mehr als echten Duke Elvis („The King is back!“) gelang dem Team der Bibliothek ein facettenreiches und selbstironisches Finale, das allein am Abschlusstag über 600 Besucher in seinen Bann zog. Sechs Wochen hatte die außergewöhnliche Ausstellung am Hubland ihre Tore geöffnet, insgesamt 6600 große und kleine begeisterte Besucher in die Bibliothek gebracht und der Universität ein überaus positives Medien-Echo beschert.

Die Universitätsbibliothek (UB) Würzburg wurde zum zehnten Mal in Folge mit dem Gütesiegel „Bibliotheken – Partner der Schulen“ ausgezeichnet. Kunstminister Markus Blume und Kultusministerin Anna Stolz würdigten das herausragende Engagement der UB und der anderen prämierten Bibliotheken bei der feierlichen Urkundenübergabe am 24. Oktober 2024 im Mozartareal in Würzburg.

The striking building of the Main Library at Hubland was designed by the Munich architect Alexander von Branca. The cornerstone stone was laid in 1974 and the new library building was ready for occupation on 15 July 1981.
